Current occupation Working full time as a bidding coordinator for a commercial construction company
Describe your family/extended family I have two children, Nora Quinn and Patrick Quinn. Nora lives in the LA area and is a 3-d animator who works for South Park: Patrick lives in Chicago and plans to go to grad school to become a therapist - is currently doing computer work for a health clinic
How have you gained knowledge or continued your education after high school? I went to grad school at the U of Washington in Public Administration in my late 20s and worked for several years writing health care policy; late in life I went to teachers' college and taught 54 unruly kindergartners (actually, they were great!)
What would like to share about your life's work? The lesson that, no matter what is thrown at you (whether you think you can do it or not), you can!
What special interests and/or activities have you enjoyed during the last half century? I love mystery books, cars (my LA background!), architecture & building, visiting my family and friends.
Please share the highlights of the places you've lived or traveled I have lived in San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Incline Village (NV), Las Vegas, Houston and now Florence.
What is your favorite AHS Memory? I was so glad to see a blog on Mr. Tajima - he was my junior English teacher and such a great person.
What are your favorite books or movies? A Tale of Two Cities; the Reacher series by Lee Child; all classic mysteries; Casablanca; L.A. Confidential; The Philadelphia Story.
What were your favorite songs or artists from 1960 to 1964. What genre of music and type of dance do you enjoy most? The Shirelles; The Righteous Brothers; Brenda Lee; Sam Cooke; Patsy Cline (I still like them all, plus classic country, bluegrass, r & b, opera - you name it).
How do you spend your quality time? With my children.
In your life thus far, what stands out as most significant, growth-producing, moving, or heart-opening? Just learning to grow up and take care of myself.
What matters most to you about the life you've lived? I hope I have contributed more than I have taken.
As you move forward into the future, what are your aspirations, hopes, dreams? Grandchildren, but, as yet, my little chicks haven't produced.
What do you still hope to accomplish or experience? (What's left on your bucket list?) Paint more often.
What else would you like to share about yourself? I would like to thank all you for taking the time to find me - I have reunited with Sharon Del Vero Hotchkin, and it is so much fun to talk again with my good friend from the past.
