This July my husband Matthew and I celebrated our 40th. anniversary on a Mediterranean cruise with our four children, three grandchildren, and their significant others. What fun! For the last decade, since retiring (Matthew from practicing law and myself from teaching English) we have traveled extensively with some of our favorites being Bali, Vietnam, Glacier National Park and everywhere in Europe. Also each summer we gather all the family for a week of fishing, hiking and playing in Mammoth.

In addition to lots of family time, I am involved in typical matronly pursuits which I thoroughly enjoy. My book club is very important to me as is my gym membership. Having been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease ten years ago, I find my dance and Tai Chi classes keep me going. My volunteering is primarily giving school tours at the Palos Verdes Interpretive Center where over 1500 grey whales pass by each winter. I love our Palos Verdes community where we have lived for 39 years.

I treasure my friends and memories from Emery Park and Alhambra High. Also I credit my Alhambra education for making me a life-long learner. I have much for which to be grateful.
